One of India's supreme wildlife destinations and included in Project Tiger, this National park derives its name from the 11th century Ranthambhore Fort; overrun by vegetation, remnants of palaces, temples and guard stones. Today, it is famous for its majestic predators –the Tigers.

Jaipur:

The 'eternal Pink city' engulfed within hills, this 'rose pink' city founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, is Rajasthan's capital. The whole city was painted pink by Man Singh when the Prince of Wales and later Edward VII, visited Jaipur in 1876. Today, every home is obliged by law to maintain this portico.

Explore the Amber Fort; Govind Devji Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lakshmi Narayan and Ganesh Temples; Albert Hall; City Palace, Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) and the world’s largest stone observatory – Jantar Mantar. Visit the amazing Jaigarh and Nahargarh Forts; Raj Mandir Cinema.

 

Jodhpur (1 nights)

Drive from Jaipur to Jodhpur (324 kms, 5hrs)

Jodhpur:

This bustling desert city is the second largest in Rajasthan after Jaipur. It was founded by Rao Jodha, the leader of the Rathore clan, in 1459 AD. The mammoth, imposing fortress (Meherangarh) has a landscape dominating a rocky ridge with the eight gates leading out of fortress. The new city is outside the structure.

Rohet (1 nights)

Drive from Jodhpur to Rohet (40 kms, 1hr)

Rohet:

Rohet – is the fortified desert home of the descendants of the 16th century Rathore of the Champawat clan, Thakur Dalpat Singh I. The "Jagir" (Fiefdom) of Rohet was bestowed upon him in 1622 A.D. by the Maharaja of Jodhpur, as a mark of appreciation for his bravery in battle. Generations of valiant noble-men have built this heritage home where, notwithstanding the inroads of modernity, aristocratic values are respected. The visitor of today experiences the famed warmth of courteous Rajput hospitality. Brilliantly plumed peacocks strut about, perching themselves under finely carved stone archways and the wind whispers through the neem tree groves and bougainvilleas.

Activities:

Rohet is famous for village safaris, which introduces its guests to local cultures and traditions. Guests are taken into homes and received with warmth and affection. Guests witness traditional folk ceremonies signifying friendship and brotherhood and see village artisans at work creating leather articles, pottery and woven handicrafts. Besides being home to three species of antelope the Chinkara, the blue bull and the black-buck-Rohet is also a haven for bird watchers with up to two hundred domestic and migratory species.

 

Udaipur (2 nights)

Udaipur:

The inimitable Lake city! Unlike its desert counterparts, Udaipur is situated in the forested hilly region of the Aravalli Ranges; in complete contrast to the arid deserts of Marwar in the northwest. Tucked away in the midst of hills, the city is an impregnable citadel, with an impressive royal lineage stretching back 26 generations. A do-or-die attitude and a fierce sense of independence characterize Udaipur.
