Day:1 Transfer to Negombo

On arrival you will be met by our English speaking Chauffeur Guide and the Airport staff who will offer assistance. Day:2 Morning after breakfast proceed to Kalpitiya

Morning after breakfast proceed to Kalpitiya. The first stop is in Chilaw, There is a saying that “Chilaw is famous for Crabs, Coconuts, and Coreas,” a testament to the influence of the Corea Family who hail from this town. Chilaw is famous for the nearby Munneswaram temple, which is visited by both Hindus as well as Buddhists.

Day:3 Dolphin watching at Kalpitiya or Beach Stay

Dolphin watching excursion early in the morning. Afternoon visit Kalpitiya city for sightseeing and beach stay. Kalpitiya: Is the best place to see Dolphins and during the season (November to April) you can witness Dolphin pods up to 1000 to 1500 members at most given times. Day:4 proceed to Wilpattu National Park

After breakfast proceed to Wilpattu National Park for a Jeep Safari. Wilpattu is one of the largest and oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world renowned for its Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population.We will start the Wild Life Safari and watch the Elephants, Sloth Bears, Leopards, water Buffalo, Sambhur, spotted deer, mongoose, mouse and shrew are more of Wilpattu’s residents.

Afternoon proceed to Anuradhapura for overnight stay at hotel in Anuradhapura.

Day:5 Visit Anuradhapura

After breakfast start sightseeing and visit ancient city of Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s sacred ancient city, surrounded by 3 great man-made lakes, is a treat for the Wanderers. Walk down history whilst you explore the city which at the height of its glory, ranked beside Nineveh and Babylon in its colossal proportions. The monumental dagobas, Jetavana Dagoba, Abayagiry Stupa and the Ruwwanveli Seya are amongst the greatest architectural feats of its age, and have been surpassed only in scale by the great pyramids of Khufru & Khafra at Gizah. The sacred Sri Maha Bodhi Tree (Peepal) is a sapling of the sacred Bo tree in India, in the shelter of which Prince Siddhartha Gauthama attained supreme enlightenment & became Buddha. It was gifted to Sri Lanka by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd century BC and is the oldest recorded tree in the world (2,250 years).

Day:6 Vavuniya – Elephant Pass – Jaffna

After breakfast proceed to Jafna and visit Vauniya, Elephant Pass en route. Vavuniya is one of the major town in the Northern region of Sri Lanka, acting as a gateway to all the towns located in Northern Sri Lanka. Elephant Pass, Sri Lanka is located in the gateway of Jaffna Peninsula.

Day:7 Jaffna city and Point Pedro

After breakfast start the city tour in Jaffna. Commence sightseeing in Jaffna including a visit to the Point Pedro Light House, the northern most point of Sri Lanka.

Day:8 proceed to Trincomalee

After breakfast proceed to Trincomalee. Trincomalee is a port city on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka. Set on a peninsula, Fort Frederick was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. Within its grounds, the grand Koneswaram Temple stands on Swami Rock cliff, a popular vantage point for blue-whale watching. The holy complex contains ornate shrines and a massive statue of Shiva. Nearby Gokanna Temple has panoramic views over the city and the coastline.

Day:9 Visit Trincomalee

After breakfast get ready to go on an exciting whale and dolphin watching tour on a boat ride and capture some rare sights of giants whales. Once you finish your tour you can spend the time at the beach or can return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Whale and dolphin watching is optional.) Or visit Pigeon Island National Park for leisure and snookering. Pigeon Island National Park is one of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka. The national park is situated 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli which you will be taken on a 15 minute boat ride to the island.

Day:10 proceed to Dambulla

After breakfast proceed to Dambulla. Visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temples, Herbal Spice Garden. Dambulla rock temple is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains.There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings.

Day:11 climb Sigiriya rock there after visit Polonnaruwa ancient city

After breakfast climb Sigiriya rock there after visit Polonnaruwa ancient city. Sigiriya Rock – Sigiriya Rock Fortress is situated in the north central province belong to the “Cultural Triangle” in the dry lowlands of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya Rock known as Lion’s Rock and considered by some as the eighth Wonder of the World. Sigiriya contains the ruins of an ancient palace complex. Built during the reign of King Kasyapa (477-495 AD). On the west of the rock are ponds the remains of summer palaces and other structures, and the first part of the ancient road, which lead to its impressive summit. Polonnaruwa – The second Ancient Capital of Sri Lanka. Visit Royal Pavilion, Thuparamaya, Watadagaya (circular stupa), Uththararamaya (Galvehare) where the reclining Buddha statue, Lankathilanka – the oldest buddhist temple etc.

Day:12 Transfer to Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy. Evening visit Tooth Relic Temple and the Cultural show in Kandy.

Day:13 Transfer to Mahiyanganaya

After breakfast leave for Mahiyangana. Visit aborigines (Vadda people) of Sri Lanka. This visit takes you to see the primitive tribes of Sri Lanka, the Veddahs. Enjoy the view along the way. Visit Sorabora Wewa and Ulhitiya Wewa Reservoir, which provides water to the locals. Travel through the wilderness to the Dambana Veddah village. Get to see this community of incredibly traditional primitive tribe, who still live off the land by hunting and farming.

Day:16 Proceed to Thissamaharama

After breakfast proceed to Thissamaharama. Afternoon Safari at Yala National Park. Yala National Park – Yala Block 1 has one of the highest densities of Leopards in the world. Yala therefore offers one of the best chances in Asia to see leopards. Other large animals you may see include Elephants, Sloth Bear, Mugger Crocodile, Spotted dear, Sambhur, Barking Dear, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, Jackal, Greay Langur monkey and Mongoose. Birding highlights include Malabar Pied Hornbill, Painted Stork, Lesser Adjutant, Black Necked Stork and etc.

Day: 17 proceed to Mirissa
