EXPLORING ANDAMAN

DAY 1: ARRIVE KOLKATA

Arrival Kolkata airport. Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel.

Overnight: hotel in Kolkata.

DAY 2: IN KOLKATA

After breakfast visit St. Paul's Cathedral which was consecrated in 1847. It is a tall white Gothic building with a stained glass window by Burne Jones. After that visit Missionary Centre of Mother Teresa, Goddess Kali Temple (Dakshineshwar Kali Temple), built in 1847, on the banks of the Hooghly, north of Kolkata. After lunch visit Victoria Memorial which is a massive domed building of white marble from Rajasthan. It was inaugurated in 1921 by the prince of Wales. Then visit Indian Museum, established on 2^nd Feb 1814. The museum is particularly famous for its zoological and geological collections. Also visit Botanical Garden, the oldest in the country. The main attraction is the 250 year old banyan tree with nearly 2,000 aerial roots, making it the largest tree of its kind in the world.

DAY 3: KOLKATA – PORT BLAIR FLY 

After breakfast transfer to Airport for Port Blair bound flight. Arrive, meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel.

Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, lies on the east coast of South Andaman Island, is a beautiful place known for its natural surroundings. In the afternoon, a tour of Port Blair which includes a visit to the Cellular Jail, a mute witness to the tortures meted out to the freedom fighters, Chatham Saw Mill, Gandhi Park, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries Museum and Samudrika (Naval Marine Museum).

DAY 4: IN PORT BLAIR

After breakfast, a half-day tour of Corbyn's Cove Tourism Complex, located 7 kilometers from the town in the coconut palm-fringed beach. The beach is ideal for swimming, surfing and sun basking.

DAY 5: IN PORT BLAIR

After breakfast take a half-day city tour of Chidiya Tapu (Bird Island). The lush green mangroves and the beach make this place an ideal picnic spot. You can visit the forest guesthouse, which is situated on top of a hillock which provides a fabulous view of isolated islands.

DAY 6: IN PORT BLAIR

After breakfast depart for a full day excursion to Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Wandoor. It comprises of open sea, creeks and fifteen small and large islands. One can see mangrove forests along the creeks and magnificent tropical forests, fascinating coral reefs and rare under-water marine life. The park serves as the base to visit various islands like Jolly Buoy, Red Skin and Cinque. These islands are famous for exotic marine-life, rare colorful under-water corals and mangrove creeks. Glass bottom boats offer a wonderful experience as you get the chance to have a closer look of the coral colonies.

DAY 7: PORT BLAIR – HAVELOCK ISLAND BY FERRY (21 NAUTICAL MILES)

After breakfast transfer to Jetty and embark ferry to Havelock Island. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Evening free at leisure for personal activities at beach.

Overnight: hotel in Havelock.

DAY 8: AT HAVELOCK ISLAND

Full day for personal activates like snorkeling and scuba diving.

Overnight: hotel in Havelock.

DAY 9: AT HAVELOCK ISLAND  

Full day for personal activates like snorkeling and scuba diving.

Overnight: hotel in Havelock.

DAY 10: HAVELOCK ISLAND-PORT BLAIR BY FERRY (21 NAUTICAL MILES)

Morning at leisure. In afternoon, transfer to jetty and embark ferry to Port Blair. On arrival, transfer to hotel.

DAY 11: PORT BLAIR – CHENNAI FLY

After breakfast transfer to airport for Chennai bound flight. On arrival transfer to hotel. In afternoon, half day city tour of Chennai. Visit St. George Fort built in 1653 currently used as the state government’s secretariat, Santhome Cathedral built around 14th/15th century and the Kapaleshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Fort Museum, National Art Gallery and Marina beach.

Overnight: hotel in Chennai.

DAY 12: DEPARTURE

Transfer to airport for onward journey.
